Job Summary
Front Office Specialist is the first point of contact, handling patient check-in/check-out and providing excellent service in a medical ophthalmology setting. Responsibilities include greeting patients, answering phones, managing patient flow, reconciling daily cash, verifying insurance authorizations, and ensuring HIPAA-compliant administrative operations. Requires professional demeanor, strong customer service, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; ability to lift up to 25 lbs and travel to other locations may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year in a position interacting with customers/patients or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous medical office experience preferred; previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred
- Favorable result on background check as required by state
- Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
