Job Summary
Welcome patients, visitors, and insurance representatives while answering calls and directing inquiries. Schedule appointments, manage changes and cancellations, and complete patient registration and intake with accurate demographic and insurance data. Assemble and maintain clinical records, review documentation for billing accuracy, and verify insurance eligibility and authorizations. Process plans of care, progress notes, and payments, while handling incoming and outgoing mail and faxes. Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and ensure a clean, professional front office environment. Collaborate with clinicians, referral sources, and team members to support seamless patient care.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professionalism in all patient interactions.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequent use of a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements, including typing and data entry.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office, outpatient healthcare setting, or customer service role.
- Experience with insurance verification, scheduling, electronic medical records (EMR), or medical terminology.
