Job Summary
Welcome guests warmly and manage admissions, reservations, ticket sales, and café orders while operating POS/EFTPOS systems and handling cash transactions. Provide information on park experiences, promotions, and local attractions; answer phone and email enquiries; and maintain a clean, organised reception and retail area. Assist with opening/closing procedures, till reconciliation, stock control, inventory, and gift shop merchandising. Support special events, birthday parties, group bookings, and functions. Train new staff when required. Work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment from 9:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Sunday, including weekends and public holidays. Immediate start required for candidates residing in Tasmania or relocating.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, administration, or front-of-house roles
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally and confidently with guests and colleagues both verbally and in writing
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Publisher, with the ability to manage emails, use basic spreadsheets and templates, format professional documents, and assist with administrative tasks
- Strong attention to detail, presentation, and customer awareness, ensuring guests are attended to promptly whenever possible
- Ability to handle customer enquiries and complaints calmly, professionally, and with composure
- Basic math and cash-handling skills, along with good spelling and grammar
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- A high standard of personal presentation and professionalism
- Availability to work between 9:30am and 4:30pm Monday to Sunday, including weekends and public holidays, or as agreed with the Manager
- No split shifts or late-night work required
- Candidates must be able to start immediately
- Applicants must reside in Tasmania or be planning to relocate, with immediate availability for trial shifts
Desired Qualifications
- Confident promoting and upselling the park's experiences, including animal encounters, guided tours, accommodation, camping, and birthday party packages
- Familiar with the local region and able to promote the park's unique location, onsite accommodation, and camping facilities as an ideal base for exploring the area
- Previous experience in reception, tourism, hospitality, retail, administration, or customer service is highly regarded
