Job Summary
Supervise logistical aspects of front of house and concession operations for the Iris Cantor Theatre, including all general needs related to the lobby, seating area, concession sales, and other public assembly areas. Oversee and reconcile concessions and merchandise sales while collaborating with the Operations Manager to monitor and update digital signage in lobby areas. Supervise and coordinate receptions with high profile guests for the NYU Tisch & Steinhardt Schools, as well as third party rentals. Manage scheduling of staff for large events or projects and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on the production schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3+ years of related front of house of events management experience or equivalent combination
- Must include experience supervising/scheduling staff for large events or projects
- NYC Fire Guard certification
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work independently and make informed, on-the-spot decisions, and resolve conflicts
- Excellent customer service and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, depending on production schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in theater, arts administration or related field
- 3+ years of events planning experience
- CPR certification
- Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act compliance issues
- Computer skills and ability to troubleshoot ticket scanner issues
- Ability to create product budgets and inventory lists
