Job Summary
Operate front load trucks to collect and transport waste materials from designated locations across the Greater Vancouver region, navigating routes efficiently to ensure timely service. Provide courteous customer service, address collection inquiries, and resolve operational issues such as blocked routes or equipment malfunctions. Perform daily pre and post trip inspections and maintain clear communication with dispatch regarding progress and deviations. Collaborate with colleagues and departments to support efficient operations while working in a team environment with minimal supervision. This physically demanding role requires pushing and pulling hundreds of pounds of bins daily. Full-time Monday to Friday schedule with early starts, including overtime opportunities and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Class 3 License with Air Brakes Endorsement
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including pushing and pulling heavy bins
- Ability to work in a diverse and evolving group dynamic
- Demonstrated capability to maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere while working in demanding conditions
- Ability to work with little to no supervisions at times with the added expectation to work in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Class 1 License
- Two years of experience in the waste management industry
