Job Summary
Lead the Front-end shift by supervising 8-18 employees, assigning work, resolving complaints, and enforcing company policies. Operate cash registers as a priority, process transactions, and manage inventory including candy merchandising and floral department organization. Handle customer interactions by offering carry-out services, verifying identification for alcohol and tobacco sales, and addressing returned merchandise. Ensure the work area remains clean, stocked, and compliant with safety standards while performing daily audits, opening/closing procedures, and equipment troubleshooting. Maintain accurate accounting for voids, returns, and transfers, and report all concerns to the Customer Service Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three to six months related experience and/or training
- Ability to speak, read and understand English fluently
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to resolve conflicts in such a manner so as to create a win-win situation
- Ability to analyze a variety of situations, think through to a solution and implement the solution
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to walk

- Must be able to ensure that all tobacco purchases are made by persons aged 18 and older
- Must be able to verify proper identification of customers who appear to be under the age of 30 that are making an alcohol or tobacco purchase
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Must be able to assist with the training & development of employees on store policies, department procedures, and job duties
- Must be able to listen to customer complaints, examine returned merchandise, and resolve problems
- Must be able to follow and implement correct accounting procedures for all voids, returns, exchanges, & department transfers
- Must be able to approve checks in accordance to company check cashing policy
- Must be able to perform cash register audits as required
- Must be able to ensure that all opening and closing procedures are performed
- Must be able to assure that all necessary paperwork is completed during shift
- Must be able to perform accurate counting, balancing, and securing of change drawer, safe, assigned cash register and 'pick-ups' & 'loans' to cashier's registers
- Must be able to keep the Customer Service Manager informed of all Front-end concerns
- Must be able to keep the Front-end clean and appealing to the customers
- Must be able to assist in 'trouble shooting' for problems with Front-end equipment
- Must be able to maintain candy inventory on Front-end merchandisers which may include ordering, receiving, stocking, and merchandising
- Must be able to assure that all ordering, receiving, stocking, and merchandising are performed properly and in a timely manner
- Must be able to communicate with Customer Service Manager on status of supplies and ordering needs
- Must be able to follow & enforce safety work standards and report any safety hazards to the Store Director
- Must be able to enforce Bristol Farms established Customer Service policies and guidelines
- Must be able to serve customers with a smile and willing attitude
- Must be able to assure high sales through establishing relationships with customers to ensure repeat business
