Job Summary
Loader Operator performs front-end loader operations in the raw clay storage area and may operate raw clay crushing units prior to the dryer. Responsibilities include maintaining proper clay quantity and quality, addressing internal customer needs, conducting pre-shift safety inspections, communicating any abnormal conditions to relief/next shift, following safety rules, assisting with daily equipment maintenance, keeping the work area clean, participating in improvement activities, and providing back-up support to processing team and other departments as needed. Required skills include safe operation of front-end loader and crushers, ability to monitor equipment performance, adherence to safety protocols, radio communication, PPE usage, and the physical ability to stand for long shifts and lift up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet the assessment requirements
- Possess experience in operating front end loader in a safe manner
- Possess knowledge required to monitor performance of equipment
- Must understand all safety requirements and other communications
- Must satisfy the spirit of WE CARE
- Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently
- Bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, walking, and climbing stairways and ladders frequently
- Good sight and hearing to avoid hazards
- Must be able to communicate by radio
- Must be able to function in the required role while wearing appropriate PPE including, but not limited to: seat belts, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, dust mask, protective coveralls, and other as may be required by a hot/cold, dusty, loud industrial environment.
