Job Summary
Front End Lead Trainee responsible for directing and optimizing front-end operations at the Giant Eagle location. Maintain consistent coverage of Self Checkout activities to ensure accurate sales capture and exceptional guest service in a safe environment. Direct traffic flow for speedy checkout, open additional checkout options, assist cashiers with overrides and questions, and manage daily schedules and control sheets for maximum efficiency and program compliance. Dictate break/lunch plans, take ownership of one or more auxiliary front-end lines (gift cards, candy, etc.), and act as the point person for the Front End when the Front-End Leader is not on duty. Ensure compliance topics (AML, scale/PIN pad checks, WIC) are addressed and assist with ordering front-end supplies while coaching team members on efficiencies, service culture, and loss prevention. Support Front End Leader with special projects or champion assignments. The role is located in the Giant Eagle system and is part of a broader front-end leadership structure in the Greater Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus, and Indianapolis areas.
Required Qualifications
- Experience Required: 1 to 3 years
- Annual certification required
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
