Job Summary
Senior/Staff Frontend or Full-Stack Engineer to shape and scale Equilibrium Energy's energy software ecosystem. You will participate in critical frontend architecture decisions, help build an interconnected suite of frontend applications, and translate complex domain requirements into elegant, scalable UIs. The role emphasizes collaboration with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to deliver cohesive user experiences, plus expertise in handling large, data-intensive datasets, AI-augmented software engineering, security best practices, and modern frontend testing. The company offers a remote-first environment across EU and the Americas, with a strong focus on energy and grid-domain challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with frontend/full-stack engineering at scale, including development and ownership of complex, data-intensive applications and large-scale TypeScript/React codebases
- Collaboration-driven mentality with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to deliver cohesive user experiences
- Designing and implementing frontend strategies for effectively consuming, visualizing, and interacting with large, complex datasets
- Proficiency in AI-augmented software engineering (e.g. Gen AI and LLMs, agentic tools)
- Strong understanding of security best practices (bonus for enterprise environments)
- Experience with modern testing strategies for frontend applications (unit, functional, end-to-end) using Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright
- Strong communication skills in a remote-first company spanning EU and the Americas
- Nice-to-have skills in energy/power systems, Python (FastAPI a plus), React Context and Zustand, Tanstack Table/Query, Recharts/D3/Plotly.js, Auth0, observability tools (Sentry, Grafana, Honeycomb, Prometheus), AWS, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes
- An advanced degree in computer science or related field
