Front-End Development Manager

Job Summary
Lead front-end delivery across multiple concurrent client engagements, enforcing UI architecture standards for scalable and maintainable React and Next.js applications. Perform code reviews and uphold engineering standards, establish performance budgets (Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals, accessibility audits), ensure responsive, cross-browser experiences meeting WCAG 2.2 Level A as a baseline with Level AA support when needed. Drive adoption of Storybook documentation, design tokens, and shared component libraries. Champion AI-forward front-end practices (AI-assisted code generation, RAG-ready UIs, telemetry-enhanced experiences). Develop hiring plans, staffing needs, and team-scaling strategies; hire and onboard new team members with clear onboarding plans and probationary reviews. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and partner with HR as needed. Act as a trusted advisor to clients and leadership, collaborating with cross-functional teams to scope work, mitigate risk, and deliver predictable outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years professional front-end development experience
- 5+ years in technical people-management role
- Strong proficiency with TypeScript, React, and Next.js
- Experience with modern React patterns (state management, server components, routing, data-fetching)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Strong leadership, mentoring abilities, and coaching mindset
- Ability to lead through influence and work in a shared leadership model
- Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
