Job Summary
Develop front-end solutions supporting USPTO Patent Center modules by translating requirements into complete user interfaces using TypeScript, Angular, and RxJS. Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and cross-functional teams to design wireframes, ensure 508 compliance, and maintain code quality through rigorous unit and integration testing. Troubleshoot complex issues involving change detection, routing, and API integrations while adhering to strict accessibility and security standards. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in modern JavaScript frameworks. Eligibility for Public Trust clearance is mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT or related field
- 5+ years of experience
- Fluency in Angular 18+
- Understanding of semantic HTML and the browser's rendering pipeline
- Understanding of responsive design using Flexbox and CSS Grid, along with modern features like CSS Container Queries
- Proficiency with Angular
- Understanding framework-specific rendering lifecycles (e.g., avoiding unnecessary re-renders)
- Proficiency in understanding State Management
- Ability to use semantic HTML, WAI-ARIA attributes, and manage focus for keyboard navigation
- Custom control accessibility is also critical
- Preventing Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF), and implementing secure authentication patterns (e.g., HTTP-only cookies vs. Local Storage)
- Strong Angular troubleshooting requires deep debugging of change detection, RxJS, routing, forms, performance, builds, and API issues, plus clear triage, root-cause analysis, and effective communication of fixes
- Unit, integration, and End-to-End (E2E) testing using tools like Jest, Vitest
- Ability to decompose complex UI problems, define API interfaces, and plan for data models before writing code
- Must be eligible to obtain Public Trust
