Job Summary
Greet guests with a smiling face, operate cash registers and scanners, and process payments for cash, checks, and cards while ensuring accurate pricing and barcode scanning. Suggestively sell items, redeem coupons, weigh produce, and bag or box merchandise according to store standards. Monitor checkout stations for stock, resolve guest complaints with courtesy, and assist with carry-outs when feasible. Perform assigned inventory tasks, maintain a clean work area, and adhere to all safety regulations. Full-time roles are 35 hours per week; part-time is up to 25 hours. You must be available to work any shift on Friday or Saturday and at least 80% of all shifts. A valid TABC Beverage Sellers Permit is required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or a general education degree (GED)
- Valid TABC Beverage Sellers Permit
- Valid Food Handlers Permit (in some cases)
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions or memos
- Ability to communicate with and understand coworkers and guests
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in both whole numbers and in fractions and decimals
- Ability to calculate discounts and percentages
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Must be available to work any shift on Friday or Saturday
- Must be available 80% or more of all shifts each week
- Must be able to stand for most of shift
- Must be able to bend and walk occasionally
- Must be able to use arms, hands, and fingers to feel, handle, reach, and lift
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more occasionally
- Must be able to push and/or pull 50-100 pounds or more occasionally
- Must have close vision
- Must have depth perception
- Must have the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to climb and balance
- Must be able to communicate and understand
- Must be able to maintain a valid TABC Beverage Sellers Permit
- Must be able to maintain a valid Food Handlers Permit (in some cases)
- Must be able to work in accordance with all safety regulations of Specs Family Partners and OSHA
- Must be able to perform each essential duty listed above satisfactorily
- Must be over the age of 21
Desired Qualifications
- Cashiering experience
- Bilingual skills
- Previous experience in retail or customer service
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures
- Knowledge of basic math for cash transactions
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette
