Required Qualifications

• •High school diploma or a general education degree (GED)
• •Valid TABC Beverage Sellers Permit
• •Valid Food Handlers Permit (in some cases)
• •Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions or memos
• •Ability to communicate with and understand coworkers and guests
• •Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in both whole numbers and in fractions and decimals
• •Ability to calculate discounts and percentages
• •Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• •Must be available to work any shift on Friday or Saturday
• •Must be available 80% or more of all shifts each week
• •Must be able to stand for most of shift
• •Must be able to bend and walk occasionally
• •Must be able to use arms, hands, and fingers to feel, handle, reach, and lift
• •Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly
• •Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more occasionally
• •Must be able to push and/or pull 50-100 pounds or more occasionally

• •Must be able to call the code for a cash drop as soon as the limit has been reached
• •Must be able to count down drawer at end of shift and prepare final drop
• •Must be able to answer questions and provide information to guests
• •Must be able to stock shelves and check price tags as needed
• •Must be able to monitor checkout station
• •Must be able to prepare assigned areas for inventory and assist in the inventory process if needed
• •Must be able to carry out directives of management efficiently
• •Must be able to fulfill responsibilities with care and attention to detail

• •Must be able to maintain uniform standard, as detailed in the Employee Manual, for all worked hours

• •Must be able to ensure proper pricing by scanning the correct barcode
• •Must be able to properly use and maintain computers, registers, and scanner equipment

• •Must be able to monitor merchandise brought to the register by stockers
• •Must be able to redeem coupons and weigh produce items when required
• •Must be able to kindly ask the guest to read and answer the pin pad question before starting the transaction
• •Must be able to ensure you make the legal sale
• •Must be able to keep work area clean and neat
• •Must be able to avoid overstocking counter with merchandise
• •Must be able to maintain proper till balance
• •Must be able to maintain a schedule made by management which may vary week to week based on the needs of the business

Desired Qualifications

• •Cashiering experience
• •Previous experience in retail or customer service
• •Familiarity with cash handling procedures
• •Knowledge of basic math for cash transactions
• •Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette
• •Bilingual skills
