Job Summary
Greet guests with a smiling face, operate cash registers, and process payments for cash, checks, cards, and gift cards. Scan barcodes, verify pricing, redeem coupons, and weigh produce. Suggestively sell items, offer charity donations, and resolve guest complaints with courtesy. Bag merchandise, assist with carry-outs, and monitor checkout stations for supplies. Check identification for legal sales, count drawers, and prepare cash drops. Stock shelves, maintain work areas, and follow safety regulations while standing and lifting up to 50 pounds. Fulfill management directives and maintain uniform standards during all shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or a general education degree (GED)
- Valid TABC Beverage Sellers Permit
- Valid Food Handlers Permit (in some cases)
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions or memos
- Ability to communicate with and understand coworkers and guests
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in both whole numbers and in fractions and decimals
- Ability to calculate discounts and percentages
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Must be available to work any shift on Friday or Saturday
- Must be available 80% or more of all shifts each week
- Must be able to stand for most of shift
- Must be able to bend and walk occasionally
- Must be able to use arms, hands, and fingers to feel, handle, reach, and lift
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more occasionally
- Must be able to push and/or pull 50-100 pounds or more occasionally
- Must be able to climb and balance
- Must be able to communicate and understand
- Must have close vision
- Must have depth perception
- Must be able to adjust focus
- Must be over the age of 21
- Must be able to work outside of scheduled time without District Manager approval is prohibited

- Cashiering experience
- Bilingual skills
- Previous experience in retail or customer service
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures
- Knowledge of basic math for cash transactions
