Job Summary
Greet patients and visitors in person and by telephone, answering inquiries and referring questions to appropriate staff. Schedule appointments to optimize patient satisfaction and provider time while managing examining and treatment room utilization. Collect insurance copays, balances, and uninsured payments at the time of service, and process payment plan agreements. Perform patient check-in and check-out, obtain demographics, and verify insurance information at each visit. Maintain individual bank reports and prepare end-of-day summaries for management sign-off. Control patient access beyond the lobby and keep the waiting room and front desk area neat and orderly. Assist with clinical inboxes as needed and ensure all required health forms are verified and stored correctly in the EMR. Maintain positive customer relations with patients, families, providers, and the healthcare team. Work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with potential evening or weekend shifts depending on location.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to sit
- Must be able to climb or balance
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Must be able to work in a noisy or distracting environment
- Must be able to wear a surgical mask if requested by any patient
- Regular & prompt attendance on agreed upon daily and weekly start and end time
- Must be available for some evening or weekend work depending on location
