Job Summary

The Front Desk Service Representative provides 24-hour customer service and administrative support at University residence front desks. Responsibilities include acting as the first point of contact for residents and visitors, updating and maintaining the Student Housing database (check-ins, checkouts, transfers, and access administration), serving as the primary liaison in residence emergencies, administering key sign-outs and inventory, delivering mail and parcels, coordinating front desk communications and incident documentation, assisting in orientation of new Front Desk staff, monitoring residence properties for hazards, handling urgent issues with escalation as needed, processing maintenance work orders, managing parking services and passes, coordinating on-call duties, lending equipment, and maintaining confidentiality and privacy. Required skills include excellent oral and written communication, strong customer service, proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook, ability to work both independently and in a team, problem solving, attention to detail, and physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds. The role entails rotating shift blocks (mornings, afternoons, overnights) and adherence to WorkSafeBC and university policies, with a focus on safety, security, and service quality.
