Job Summary
The Front Desk Representative role supports patient flow and administrative operations in a medical practice. Responsibilities include patient registration and check-in/out, collecting and verifying demographics and financial information, data entry into the EMR, assisting patients with Phreesia and forms, obtaining emails for portal registration, handling payments (co-pays, co-insurances, deductibles, past due balances), scheduling follow-ups per insurance guidelines, maintaining documentation (ID, insurance cards, referrals), answering routine inquiries, and providing strong customer service with HIPAA compliance. The position requires excellent communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task, teamwork, and a professional demeanor in a healthcare setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, other coworkers and the public
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Ability to accurately collect and maintain money
