Job Summary
The Front Desk Representative role supports patient intake and office operations at the practice site by collecting insurance demographics, registering patients, handling payments and scheduling. Responsibilities include patient registration, data entry into EMR, collecting co-pays, co-insurances, and deductibles, verifying demographic and insurance information, assisting patients with Phreesia tablets and patient portal setup, scheduling follow-ups, handling inquiries, maintaining medical records and ensuring confidentiality per HIPAA, and delivering exceptional customer service. Requires proficiency with Internet and MS Office, strong communication, multitasking, attention to detail, and the ability to work flexibly; ASC work may require influenza vaccination and two-step PPD and related regulatory competencies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, other co-workers and the public
- Ability to work individually as well as within a team
- Ability to accurately collect and maintain money
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Ability to respond with patience and understanding during stressful conditions related to patient health and emergent situations
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
