Job Summary
Front Desk Receptionist in a medical practice. Responsibilities include greeting patients, answering calls, scheduling appointments and managing provider calendars, registering patients and updating demographics, notifying providers of arrivals, updating patient records via data entry and scanning, processing payments (deductibles, coinsurance, balances, copays), reviewing and updating accounts receivable/payable changes, maintaining logs of orthotics, monitoring supplies, verifying insurance eligibility, referrals, and authorizations, preparing daily reports and uploading financial records, reviewing billing claims and denials, and supporting additional office tasks. Required skills include high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in medical administration preferred, knowledge of health insurance processes and CPT/ ICD-9/10 coding preferred, excellent customer service, strong communication and multitasking, HIPAA compliance, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of administrative support experience in a medical environment preferred
- Knowledge of health insurance processes, including pre-authorization, insurance verification, CPT codes and ICD-9/ ICD-10 coding preferred
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer systems
