Job Summary
Greet patients and visitors professionally while checking them in and out accurately. Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information, collect payments, and answer incoming telephone calls. Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments for dermatology consultations, procedures, and follow-ups. Process referrals and authorizations, scan and route medical records, and maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record. Communicate with insurance companies, pharmacies, and referring providers while ensuring patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Maintain a clean reception area and collaborate with clinical and administrative staff.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone
- Ability to use a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment
- Ability to occasionally lift or move office supplies and materials
Desired Qualifications
- Previous medical office, healthcare, or front desk experience
- Previous dermatology or specialty practice experience
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Strong computer and data-entry skills

- Experience scheduling dermatology procedures or surgeries
- Experience coordinating pathology, referrals, or outside medical records
