Job Summary
Greet patients, manage check-in and check-out processes, and coordinate patient flow through the office. Screen calls, schedule appointments and referrals, and enter complete patient demographics into the computer system. Collect payments, verify chart signatures, and proactively track patients in the reception area. Maintain product inventory, fulfill orders, and run end-of-day reports to balance payment totals. Handle incoming correspondence, faxes, and messages while assisting other staff as needed. Work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7am to 6pm at a Mid-Atlantic dermatology practice founded over 50 years ago.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED
- Fluent in English
- Ability to travel to and provide coverage for other local offices as-needed
- Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds
- Correctable vision to 20/20 and hearing within a normal range for telephone contacts
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard
- Sitting, some standing, stooping and reaching
- Intermediate computer skills and experience in EMR utilization
- Working knowledge of multi-line phone system
- Ability to sort and file materials correctly alphabetically or numerically
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA standards
- Part time position
- Required Hours are Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 7am-6pm
- Pay range: 18-22/hr, depending upon experience
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years recent experience as a Medical Receptionist in a clinical or surgical setting
- Previous experience in Dermatology
