Job Summary
The Front Desk Receptionist role supports patient-facing operations across the practice, creating a positive and professional first impression. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments and assisting with tests directed by the physician, compiling daily patient paperwork, collecting co-pays and past balances, entering patient demographics into Practice Management and the EHR, scanning driver’s licenses and insurance cards, obtaining referrals, reconciling daily payment batches, scheduling follow-up procedures, and assisting with Phreesia registration. The role requires travel to other sites within a reasonable geographic region, a high school diploma or GED, and 2 years of front office experience (preferably in a medical setting). Strong customer service, medical terminology, ICD-9/CPT-4 knowledge, HIPAA compliance, and proficiency with office software are essential. The position is full-time with compensation in the posted hourly range; actual pay is based on experience and location. Equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two (2) years of front office experience, preferably in a medical setting
- 1 - 2 years of customer service
- Key competencies: Excellent customer service, attention to detail, ability to learn, proficiency with medical terminology, ICD-9, and CPT-4 Codes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer software and database skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel to other sites as necessary
- Maintain HIPAA compliance
- Multitasking and proactive problem-solving
