Job Summary
Front Desk Receptionist role in Washington, DC focused on first-point-of-contact customer service for patients and visitors. Responsibilities include greeting patients, assisting with check-in/check-out, coordinating appointment scheduling, managing phone inquiries, handling data entry and billing/insurance verification as needed, maintaining organized front desk and waiting areas, ensuring HIPAA compliance, resolving patient concerns, and collaborating with staff to improve patient experiences. Requires strong communication, attention to detail, multitasking in a fast-paced healthcare setting, and availability Monday–Friday 7:30 AM–4:00 PM with potential weekend shifts. Preferred experience with medical terminology and EHR systems.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous receptionist/administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with office equipment (computers, phones, printers)
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare practices
- Attention to detail and patient confidentiality (HIPAA)
