Job Summary
Oversee all Front Office functions and manage staff in accordance with hotel standards, including conducting daily rounds of guest rooms and public areas to inspect conditions and fill maintenance work orders. Resolve operational problems across departments, enforce policies, and prioritize assignments while training and motivating the team. Handle guest interactions, including escorting VIPs and addressing difficult situations, while ensuring security and confidentiality of information. Review high balance reports, follow up on credit issues, and prepare schedules to meet budget expectations. Print and distribute reports to all departments and fill in for the Front Office Manager when unavailable. Maintain professional grooming and dress codes for staff.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to provide legible communication
- Ability to have excellent follow through on all operational matters as it relates to communicating and resolving problems for the various departments
- Ability to accurately compute valuable mathematical calculations
- Familiarity with yield management and cost controls
- Ability to inspect guest rooms and tour the hotel as trained by the Front Office Manager and to fill our maintenance work orders
- Ability to enforce hotel's standards, policies and procedures with the Front Office staff
- Ability to create and maintain a positive work environment to ensure an excellent work relationship with other departments and to ensure the guest expectations
- Ability to ensure adherence to all credit procedures in the Front Office; review High Balance Report and follow up on credit problems with Credit Manager and Front Office Manager
- Ability to be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems pertaining to hotel standards
- Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments and delegate work
- Ability to conduct performance evaluations and discipline employees when needed
- Ability to train and motivate staff on a daily basis to maintain a cohesive team
- Ability to focus attention on details by doing daily rounds of the guest rooms and public areas
- Ability to remain professional and courteous with demanding or difficult guests or situations, in order, to turn them to the positive
- Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of guest and hotel information
- Ability to ensure that all special guest needs and expectations are met and exceeded
- Ability to prepare schedules, in order, to ensure budget expectations
- Ability to maintain excellent grooming and dress codes for all staff workers
- Ability to be aware of all safety and emergency procedures of the hotel
- Ability to fill in for the Front Office Manager when she/he is not available
