Front Desk Manager

Job Summary

Respond to all guest requests, complaints, and accidents at the Front Desk or through Reservations with an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner. Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline all Front Desk personnel according to Aimbridge Hospitality S.O.P.'s, while preparing and conducting interviews and performance appraisals. Maximize room revenue and occupancy by reviewing daily status, analyzing rate efficiency, and monitoring credit reports. Supervise the Night Audit function, ensure compliance with brand training, and maintain accurate cash handling and key control systems. Operate all Front Office computer systems, including software maintenance and report generation, while monitoring P.B.X. console usage and reservation processes. Prepare employee schedules, review payroll hours, and submit wage progress reports weekly. Greet all approaching guests, process room reservations, and implement hospitality policies and house rules. Maintain organized filing systems, manage "Lost and Found" procedures, and coordinate with Accounting on follow-up items. Attend weekly staff meetings, monthly team meetings, and required M.O.D. programs as scheduled.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
  • 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience
  • 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Proficiency in Windows operating systems
  • Proficiency in company approved spreadsheets
  • Proficiency in word processing
  • Valid driver's license from the applicable state
  • Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work well in stressful high pressure situations
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Ability to be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary
  • Ability to assimilate complex information data etc from disparate sources and consider adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need
  • Ability to be effective at listening to understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests
  • Ability to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions
