Job Summary
Welcome and register guests upon arrival by verifying reservations and processing payments efficiently. Handle check-ins and check-outs accurately while managing room assignments and maintaining clean front desk standards. Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries and complaints, and escalate issues to management as needed. Provide concierge services by arranging transportation, handling mail and packages, and offering local dining and attraction recommendations. Maintain up-to-date guest records, process various payment forms securely, and cultivate relationships with local vendors. Work flexible hours including overnights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in Front Desk or customer service role
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in property management systems (PMS) such as Opera, Fidelio, or similar
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Fluent in English
- Ability to stand, walk, pull, push, bend, stoop, and lift for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25-30 pounds
- Manual dexterity to operate necessary equipment and handle supplies
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overnights, weekends and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in Front Desk or customer service role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment
- Proficiency in additional languages
- Extensive knowledge of New York City's attractions, restaurants, and cultural landscape
