Job Summary
Conduct front desk operations by answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance eligibility. Prepare patient paperwork, update Electronic Medical Records, and collect copays at check-in/out. Identify payer sources, verify prior authorizations, and address routine inquiries while forwarding non-routine requests. Requires minimum 2-3 years of front desk experience in a medical office, proficiency with EMR systems, and knowledge of medical dermatology terms. Must demonstrate compassion, prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, and possess manual dexterity for handling files and supplies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience working at the front desk in a medical office/clinic
- Prior insurance verification and scheduling experience
- Knowledgeable of medical dermatology terms/CPT, ICD-10
- Quality written and verbal communication skills
- Quality mathematics skills
- Professional in appearance and mannerisms
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Able to demonstrate compassion and caring when dealing with others, patients, and co-workers
- Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider's instructions, and know when to seek information or advice
- Must possess manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator
