Job Summary
Monitor daily building activities and maintain security for residents at the Edward II residence. Screen all visitors, enforce property rules, and respond to building emergencies while treating guests with respect and dignity. Maintain complete and accurate building logs, including visitor and overnight records, and assist residents with work orders, incident reports, and complaints. Complete administrative tasks as directed by the Building Manager and attend scheduled staff meetings. Perform duties during the 4 PM to 12 AM shift from Wednesday through Saturday, including a paid on-duty meal period.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Willingness to learn and follow directions
- Good humored, courteous and professional; even under pressure
- Organized, with attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and responsible during emergencies
- An understanding of and ability to communicate with diverse types of people
- Ability to be a part of a team
- Commitment to helping formerly homeless people to regain and maintain their independence
- An understanding of and experience working with issues of homelessness and recovery issues
- Valid phone number
- Ability to appropriately respond to and resolve conflict
- Applicants with de-escalation and conflict resolution training
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Close vision
- Mobility to use standard office equipment, including computer
- Vision to read printed materials, and a computer screen
- Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
- Background check eligibility (required for all applicants working directly with at-risk populations)
