Job Summary
The Front Desk Attendant serves as the first point of contact at The Lighthouse Navigation Center, providing a welcoming environment for participants, staff, volunteers, and visitors. Responsibilities include guest reception, maintaining accurate documentation of participant check-ins, and ensuring effective communication among staff. The role involves security support, managing supplies distribution, addressing conflicts using de-escalation techniques, and performing general administrative tasks. Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills, basic computer literacy, and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
Required Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work respectfully with diverse populations.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and email.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and follow confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to remain calm and use de-escalation skills in stressful situations.
Desired Qualifications
- At least 1 year of customer service, front desk, or administrative experience.
- Experience in a nonprofit, shelter, healthcare, or social services setting.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn HMIS.
- Training or experience in trauma-informed care or conflict de-escalation.
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
