Job Summary
Front Desk Associate responsible for greeting guests, performing check-in/check-out, upselling rooms, and providing professional guest service. Will act as Manager on Duty as scheduled, handle cash/credit transactions per procedures, operate the Property Management System, complete brand trainings, and coordinate with other departments to ensure guest satisfaction. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, fluency in English, willingness to work weekends/holidays and various shifts, and ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to speak fluent English
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Strong computer and typing skills, tech-savvy
- Stand for long periods behind the desk and front office areas
- Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Handling objects, products, and computer equipment
- Willing to work weekends, and/or holidays and all shifts
- Provide prompt, friendly, courteous, and professional guest service
- Ability to perform check-in / check-out of hotel guests in a timely and professional manner
- Act as the Manager on Duty (MOD) when scheduled
- Register guests, issue room keys, provide information on hotel services
- Answer phones promptly
- Upsell rooms to maximize revenue
- Proficiency with the Property Management System
- Complete brand trainings and log onto Brand Portal
- Understand hotel operating procedures
- Process cash and credit card transactions per procedures
- Data entry and reporting
- Respond to guest complaints and requests with service recovery
- Perform other duties including tours, breakfast setup, lobby cleaning, meeting room setup, documentation and reporting
- Document events and incidents in the log
- Ensure lobby and public areas' appearance and security
- Proficient with front office equipment (credit card machine, copier, fax)
- Willing to work any shift
- Knowledge of room types and rate plans
- Understand franchise policy on guaranteed reservations and no-shows
- Maintain courtesy and teamwork across departments
