Job Summary
Front Desk Agents greet guests, register arrivals, handle reservations, and provide concierge-level service to maximize guest satisfaction and hotel occupancy. Responsibilities include checking guests in and out, answering inquiries about hotel services, restaurants, transportation, and local attractions, maintaining brand-standard appearance and communication with other departments, managing packages and mail, and operating the Front Desk computer system. The role requires familiarity with rates, promotions, in-house groups, and emergency procedures, plus strong guest-relations skills, multi-tasking, problem solving, and the ability to work a varied schedule. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and a proactive, service-oriented mindset are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Positive and upbeat personality with desire to deliver outstanding customer service
- Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and problem solve for internal and external customers
- Must convey information clearly
- Must evaluate and select among alternative actions quickly and accurately
- Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations
- Must be effective at listening to co-workers and guests
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and basic arithmetic
- Ability to use logic to define problems, collect information, establish facts, and draw conclusions
- Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Willingness to work varied schedules including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Understanding of hotel products and guest services
