Job Summary
Greet and register guests, handle check-ins and check-outs, and settle accounts upon departure. Manage reservations, modify bookings, and answer inquiries regarding facilities, hours, restaurants, and transportation. Operate the telephone switchboard, two-way radio, and Front Desk computer system while logging and delivering mail, messages, packages, and amenities. Maintain proper appearance, comply with brand policies, and assist in emergency procedures. Work a varied schedule including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Willingness and ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Understanding of hotel products and guest services (i.e., lifestyle, full service resort, etc.)
- Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
- Ability to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions
- Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and/or short correspondence and memos
- Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Desired Qualifications
- College coursework in a related field
- Experience in a hotel or a related field
- Positive and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service to guests
- Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and problem-solve to effectively deal with internal and external customers
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Ability to be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
- Ability to be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the issues raised by co-workers and guests
- Ability to perform numerical operations using basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing
- Ability to participate in the creation of an enjoyable work environment
