Job Summary
Perform in haunted attractions or scare zones as fictional characters, startling and entertaining park guests with great enthusiasm and animation. Carry and wear 5 to 20 pounds of costume weight while working in crowds, heat, cold, tight, and dark surroundings. Execute choreographed movements during parades, meet and greet guests, and utilize stunt rigging with fall protection harnesses for aerial roles. Dance or perform gymnastic movements on stilts while maintaining a positive, can-do attitude. This short-term position for Fright Fest's 33rd year at Six Flags Magic Mountain requires auditions and the ability to attend rehearsals on weekends, nights, and holidays. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and comfortable performing in enclosed costumes with limited sight lines.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods in varied weather conditions including heat, cold, and rain
- Must be able to perform in an enclosed costume, having limited sight lines if applicable
- Must be able to carry and wear 5 to 20 pounds of costume weight
- Must be able to work in crowds
- Must be able to work in heat
- Must be able to work in cold
- Must be able to work in tight and dark surroundings
- Must be able to work in rain
- Must be able to wear fall protection harnesses for long periods of time
- Must be physically fit
- Must be comfortable with heights up to 48"
- Must be able to perform specific choreographed movements during parades
- Must be able to work and attend rehearsals that include a variety of shifts including weekends, nights, and holidays relating to this short-term position for this specific event
