Job Summary
Oversee food service and safety standards at the Friendship Café while serving meals and managing daily operations. Plan and execute social and recreational activities for older adults, including arranging speakers on health topics and supervising local trips. Perform cleaning and sanitization of work areas, order meals based on client reservations, and prepare monthly reports for the transportation service unit. Provide initial emergency response to clients and communicate daily with families regarding concerns. Secure confidential contributions and facilitate client requests using phone and email. Participate in mandatory monthly meetings and advocate for community needs. Requires Spanish and English communication skills, ability to lift 15 pounds, and one year of experience with older adults preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of activity planning and safe food service
- Ability to plan and carry out informational programs for program participants
- Ability to maintain financial records and complete monthly meal service and transportation reports
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing, using phone, email, text and internet-based applications
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with older adults, their families and co-workers
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Attends and participates in Cafe Specialists meetings, held on the first Friday of each month (mandatory)
- Provides initial response to client emergencies according to established procedures
