Job Summary
Lead and assist in organizing, conducting, and evaluating daily basketball practices; supervise equipment and facilities with safety checks; monitor locker rooms and ensure medical readiness; attend Varsity games when not scouting; participate in required IHSAA/IGHSAU meetings and complete required paperwork; assist with scouting as directed by the Head Varsity Coach; support Booster Club needs; communicate with Head Coach and Activities Director; enforce district and athletic association rules; promote the coach’s philosophies and high standards of integrity and sportsmanship; provide feedback on team and individual issues to the Head Coach; stay informed on changes by attending clinics and reading relevant materials; maintain team records and assist in administrative tasks to run the department effectively and efficiently; comply with equal opportunity and anti-discrimination policies as outlined by the district and relevant authorities.
Required Qualifications
- Coaching Endorsement or Coaching Authorization as mandated by the Iowa Department of Education, Iowa Board of Educational Examiners, Iowa High School Athletic Association, and Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.
