Job Summary

Make phone calls and send text messages to prospective students and families to educate them about Covenant College and guide them toward visiting campus or applying. Occasionally write follow-up emails, handwritten notes, and participate in Admissions Events or tour coverage if aptitude is shown. Record all communications in Slate and attend mandatory training sessions while following the Admissions Caller manual. Engage students and parents from diverse backgrounds using strong storytelling and relational skills, and solve problems when questions arise outside your knowledge. Work 10 hours per week primarily from 9 am to 9 pm Monday through Thursday, with occasional Saturday shifts, in a professional office environment using standard equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a Covenant student
  • Excellent oral (particularly over the phone) and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people
  • Strong initiative to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Robust relational and storytelling capabilities
  • Energy and empathy to engage prospective students and parents from a variety of backgrounds
  • Attend mandatory Admissions Caller training sessions
  • Follow all guidelines as specified in the Admissions Caller manual
  • Office work experience
  • Professional experience with over-the-phone communication
  • Dress professionally and appropriately for your job
  • Be punctual
  • Attend chapel services at least once per week, on average
  • 25-50 lbs lifting capability
