Job Summary
Supervise and assign maintenance employees to coordinate repairs for electrical, plumbing, ventilation, and fresh fruit packing equipment. Inspect work for completeness, determine material needs, and transfer personnel between projects based on production demand and food safety risks. Provide technical guidance to mechanics while ensuring all staff follow OSHA safety programs and GMP policies. Keep timecards, update inventories, and execute breakdowns and emergency repairs safely. Operate, maintain, and monitor heating, cooling, ventilation systems, including the boiler.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED or related technical field
- At least two years of education and training beyond high school level in industrial maintenance and reliability, or a closely related area
- One year experience in maintenance operations including two years in a supervisory capacity
- Ability to meet and deal tactfully and courteously with fellow employees and vendors/contractors
- Ability to install, inspect, repair and maintain the electrical, plumbing and other related systems
- Ability to perform various clean-up and maintenance tasks as needed
- Ability to update inventories and other supplies as needed
- Ability to inspect, operate and maintain the heating, cooling, ventilation system, and boiler system
- Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions
- Blueprint and Schematic literacy (mechanical and electrical)
- Understand the functionality and application of a CMMS
- Thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties
