Job Summary
Conduct two 4-hour recording sessions using a dedicated external microphone in a dry, quiet room to capture French (Quebec) audio samples. Participate in natural conversation, prompted discussion, and scripted customer-service scenarios while recording from your own home studio setup. Submit two 30-second audition samples in WAV format (24-bit, 48 kHz) for approval before starting. Requires native-level French fluency and access to professional gear such as a Shure SM58 or RODE PodMic.
Required Qualifications
- Native-level French(Quebec) speaker
- Natural, authentic, friendly, and conversational customer-service speaking style
- Access to a professional home recording environment: high-quality microphone, pop filter, and a quiet space free of background noise
- Ability to record audio meeting technical specifications: WAV format, 24-bit, 48kHz
- An external microphone: A separate, dedicated microphone
- A dry room: Your voice should sound close and clear, with no echo or hollow, distant quality
- A quiet room: No HVAC hum, fans, traffic, appliances, or household noise during recording
- Dynamic Mics (best for untreated rooms): Shure SM58, Shure MV7 / MV7+, RODE PodMic / PodMic USB, or similar
- Condenser mic (great in a treated room): RODE NT-USB Mini, Blue Yeti / Yeti Orb, Blue Bluebird, Blue Baby Bottle, or similar
- Room Treatment: Your recording space should produce studio-quality sound samples – isolation shields, sounds absorbing pads, etc
- You must be able to produce audio samples in the meeting the following specifications: WAV format, 24-bit, 48 kHz, no compression
