Job Summary
Teach up to three students at different levels in interactive sessions, following Oxford Learning's cognitive methodologies and guiding them through provided curriculum materials. Deliver instruction in both online and in-person formats while filling post-lesson notes and completing daily student communication updates. Maintain a friendly, professional manner to help children develop self-confidence and overcome academic hurdles. Work evenings Monday through Thursday and select Saturdays, with a preference for a term commitment through June. Applicants must reside near Nepean, possess strong French and English skills, and pass vulnerable sector screening.
Required Qualifications
- Strong background in spoken and written French and English
- Comfortable teaching up to a Grade 8 level
- Ability to instruct class sessions in French
- Commitment until the end of the term in June
- Reliability
- Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
- Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience
- Good knowledge of the current Grades K-12 French core curriculum
- Some experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade K to 12 (or equivalent) level
- Strong English written and oral communication skills
- Strong French skills and ability to guide students' understanding
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
- Must be able to commute to this location
- Vulnerable sector screening
