Job Summary
French Linguist for Corporate Language Support Services sought to support current and future foreign language requirements across YSG and TU. Responsibilities include interpretation (in-person and virtual), translation of written/electronic/audio/video materials, transcription, document review/editing, plus foreign language instruction in classroom or virtual settings. Open evergreen requisition with potential assignment across YSG/TU portfolios and for government contracts. Candidates may be considered for a range of language support roles as needs arise; must meet ILR CAT I/II/III proficiency requirements and security clearance expectations. Remote work options and CONUS deployments may apply; some travel may be required. Strong collaboration within a team of highly trained professionals and ability to work under high pressure in harsh environments are expected.
Required Qualifications
- Must be qualified/certified at one of CAT I, CAT II, or CAT III categories with ILR levels (CAT I: ILR 2+ English, CAT II: ILR 2+ English with security considerations, CAT III: ILR 3 English with required security clearances)
- Ability to provide idiomatic translations and consecutive interpretation between English and foreign language
- Experience providing foreign language instruction to adult students
- Familiarity with local culture and customs
- Ability to work under high pressure and stress
- Ability to work as part of a team of professionals
- Security clearance requirements (CAT I LN/TCN/uncleared US Citizens; CAT II US Citizens with SECRET; CAT III US Citizens with TOP SECRET/SCI access)
- Willingness to live and work in harsh environments as mission dictates
- Speak English and foreign language fluently with correct syntax
- Maintain tone and register of source materials
- Ability to review and edit documents and provide classroom or virtual instruction
