Job Summary
French Instructor needed for after-school programs at partner school sites. Lead structured, engaging after-school sessions (1–4 hours/week) for ~10 weeks, focusing on foundational French communication through interactive, student-centered lessons. Teach introductory topics (greetings, introductions, numbers, dates, time, high-frequency vocabulary, basic sentence structure, verbs) using activities like games, role-play, guided dialogue, and culture exploration. Responsibilities include prioritizing student participation and speaking/listening, adapting instruction to varied skill levels and group sizes, maintaining a safe and inclusive classroom, tracking attendance, communicating with program staff, and delivering a culminating project showcasing student learning.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 60 college credits (completed or in progress)
- Strong working proficiency in French
- Experience working with K–12 students (teaching, tutoring, camps, etc.)
- Strong classroom presence and ability to engage students
- Reliable, professional, and responsive
- Able to create fun, age-appropriate learning experiences
