Job Summary
Welcome guests to Gustave cafes, engage with them throughout their experience, and determine needs by asking questions while sharing product knowledge. Take orders using the point-of-sale system, deliver coffee beverages and food, and execute all product and packaging standards. Maintain clean and well-stocked café stations, adhere to safety and sanitation policies, and support visual/brand standards. Baristas handcraft artistic espresso beverages, follow recipe and presentation specifications, operate station equipment, and keep the bar sanitary and stocked. Requires flexibility for weekends, holidays, and evenings; ideal candidates have manual espresso experience. French language is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Engaging, warm, and welcoming communication skills and presence
- Have a passion for and deep knowledge of our coffee menu, our bakery and savory offerings, and genuine hospitality
- Have a desire to help where needed and work as part of a team
- Live from Gustave's core values and help Gustave deliver on its mission
- Have flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, holidays, & afternoons/evenings
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to grasp and reach overhead
- Must be able to lift, move, and carry 50+lbs
- Must be able to work 8+ hours a day on feet
Desired Qualifications
- (Ideally, barista team members also have at least 1 year of experience as a barista using manual espresso equipment in a fast-paced restaurant/cafe)
