Job Summary
Hybrid role involving local P&D driving, dock operations, and yard hostling at an LTL terminal in Charlotte, NC. Responsibilities include safely operating Class A or B trucks, conducting pre-trip/post-trip inspections, handling shipping documents (Bills of Lading, delivery receipts, manifests), using handheld scanners, securing freight, loading/unloading with forklifts and pallet jacks, operating dock equipment, yard movements as a hostler, coordinating trailer flows with dispatch, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment. Requires CDL (A or B), ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen, able to lift up to 50 lbs, forklift/pallet jack experience, English literacy for shipping docs, and a safety-first, team-oriented approach.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL (Class A or B, depending on equipment used)
- Clean driving record that meets DOT standards
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate forklifts/pallet jacks
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (indoor/outdoor)
- Ability to read, write, and understand English, including shipping documents and safety regulations
- Commitment to safety and adherence to procedures
