Job Summary
Load, unload, stack, and secure freight with high precision while following work orders to determine movement priorities. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists to move shipments, installing blocking and bracing to ensure stability and compliance. Transport freight between dock areas and storage zones, keeping work areas clean and organized to support continuous flow. Communicate with operations leadership and supervisors to surface delays or safety concerns, demonstrating sound judgment in fast-changing situations. Prioritize tasks to meet operational timelines without sacrificing quality, ensuring all freight handling aligns with company standards and hazardous materials protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Forklift driver qualification
- Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain composure in a fast paced setting
- Ability to lift and or move up to 50 pounds
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Color vision
