Job Summary
Execute high-precision freight handling by loading, unloading, stacking, and securing shipments while applying tags and labels for full visibility. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hoists to move freight, install blocking and bracing, and maintain equipment cleanliness. Transport freight between dock areas and trailers to keep work zones clean and organized, ensuring continuous flow. Communicate with operations leadership and supervisors to surface delays or safety concerns, collaborating to maintain a high-performance environment. Uphold safety standards and regulatory requirements while prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced setting. Requires forklift qualification, hazardous materials training, and ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1–3 months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Forklift driver qualification
- Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain composure in a fast paced setting
- Must regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
