Job Summary
Freight Handler/Forklift Operator handling loading and unloading of 53 ft trailers in a fast-paced dock/shipping environment. Use handheld scanners to track and maneuver freight, label boxes, and prepare freight for shipment. Operate equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts; obtain forklift certification and comply with safety standards. Verify freight documentation and quality, and maintain a clean, safe workspace. Must frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 90 pounds. Training provided; schedule includes Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 5pm-10pm; overtime and weekends may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 or older
- Must be able to obtain certification and safely operate forklift and other machinery as required
- Forklift and general freight handling knowledge is a plus
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Must be flexible to work weekends and overtime as needed
