Job Summary
Freight Handler/Forklift Operator responsible for loading and unloading freight on 53 ft trailers, operating scanners, labeling boxes, and preparing freight for shipment. Uses handheld scanners to track freight, and employs hand trucks/pallet jacks and forklifts to move loads. Must be able to obtain forklift certification and safely operate related machinery. Frequent lifting is required (up to 50 pounds regularly, up to 90 pounds occasionally). Maintains a clean, safe dock environment and may work weekends and overtime. EOE.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Strong team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Must be flexible to work weekends and overtime as needed
- Forklift and general freight handling knowledge is a plus
- Must be 18 or older
- Must be able to obtain certification and safely operate forklift and other machinery as required
