Job Summary
Freight Handler and Forklift Operator (2nd Shift) at Forward Air. Responsible for loading/unloading freight on 53 ft trailers, using scanners to track and maneuver shipments, labeling boxes, and preparing freight for shipment. Operates equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklifts; must obtain forklift certification and safely operate equipment. Lifts up to 50–90 pounds; overtime and weekend availability required. Emphasis on safety, accuracy, teamwork, and efficient distribution operations.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 or older
- Must be able to obtain certification and safely operate forklift
- Forklift certification is a plus
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Strong team player in fast-paced environment
