Job Summary
Schedule, dispatch, and monitor drivers for inbound and outbound deliveries while planning efficient routes to minimize delays and transportation costs. Adjust schedules quickly when delays or unexpected issues arise and coordinate with warehouse, customer service, and logistics teams to ensure smooth load preparation and on-time departures. Track shipments in real time, provide updates to internal teams and customers, and enter system details regarding dispatch information and load statuses. Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding routing, instructions, and load information, communicating service issues proactively to prevent failures. This role supports the DeWitt Companies' family-owned transportation group serving Hawaii, Guam, and California.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess positive team-work attitude and open to learning opportunities
- Excellent communication and problem‐solving skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast‐paced environment and manage time‐sensitive tasks
- Proficiency with TMS platforms, and Microsoft Office
- Must be able to lift up to 15lbs at times
Desired Qualifications
- 1–3 years experience in transportation, dispatching, or logistics (preferred)
