Job Summary
The Freelance Sr. Designer will focus on soft piece woven products, delivering seasonal designs such as dresses, blouses, and skirts in line with brand concepts while collaborating with the design team. Responsibilities include conducting market research to inform design direction, maintaining awareness of fashion trends, and ensuring designs align with the Lafayette 148 aesthetic. Key skills include proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, a strong portfolio, and a deep understanding of garment construction and fabrication. Required Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field
- 5–10+ years of professional fashion design experience
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) experience a must
- Expert knowledge of silhouette, fit, fabrication, construction, color use, sewing techniques, and trim
- Proficiency in design software and tools like Adobe Creative Suite
